Little Manistee Watershed Conservation Council

LMWCC began in 1996 when a small group of riverfront owners met to share their concerns about the river’s future following two failures of the dam in Luther within six years. And while that group was mainly concerned with the massive amounts of sediment flushed downstream by the ensuing floods, the focus of the LMWCC has broadened considerably over the years.

Today the LMWCC remains a grassroots organization dependent on the commitment of a volunteer board of trustees and the financial support and generosity of its members and the wider community of those interested in protecting and preserving the serene beauty of this treasured resource.
